Mrs. Stoffel
Peggi Stoffel is the director of instrumental music at Rancho Pico Junior High School in the William S. Hart Union High School District. She teaches band, orchestra, and jazz band. Rancho Pico Junior High School ensembles have consistently been awarded Superior ratings and awards at numerous festivals. Mrs. Stoffel takes pride in providing students a comprehensive music education and teaching them to empower themselves through hard work and dedication.
Mrs. Stoffel received her bachelor's degree in music from UCLA, cum laude specializing in music education and bassoon performance. She also earned a master’s degree from UCLA in education. Mrs. Stoffel has taught grades 4-8 instrumental music for over 26 years in both Illinois and California. She holds membership in the National Association for Music Education, California Music Education Association, California Band Directors Association, California Orchestra Directors Association, and the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association. Mrs. Stoffel has served as a music education and double reed clinician at UCLA, Indiana University, Northern Illinois University, and Cal State Northridge. She was a recipient of the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation Most Influential Educator award in 2003, selected to be included in the 24th edition of Who's Who of American Women, and had a letter published in Teaching Music magazine. She has been awarded grants by both the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation and the Santa Clarita Valley Education Foundation. In 2011, Mrs. Stoffel was recognized by the City of Santa Clarita Arts Commission for her dedication to teaching the arts to the youth of Santa Clarita. Mrs. Stoffel was named "Teacher of the Year" at Rancho Pico Junior High School in 2016. Mrs. Stoffel was the conductor of the SCSBOA 2023 Elementary Honor Orchestra. Recently, Mrs. Stoffel was selected as the 2023 recipient of the Middle School Music Specialist Award by the California Music Education Association.
